Maui Marathon Song

Serenaders Signature Song

Maui Marathon

Serenaders 2009-2016 At Maui Marathon

The Hawaiian Serenaders entertained runners for eight years at the 40th Annual Maui Marathon in September 2009 through the 47th Annual Marathon in September 2016. Here are lyrics to what became requested as the Serenaders signature song:

THE MAUI MARATHON SONG – parody by Mele Fong and Rich Tom of “Da Do Run Run” by the Crystals, 1963. (Arranged in the key of D using Mele’s unique Hum Ding-Ah Strum for ‘ukulele)

We came to Maui ran the marathon
We do run, run, run, we do run, run
Started on a Sunday in the early morn
We do run, run, run, we do run, run.

1st Chorus:
Yeah, we ran all morn
Yeah, our feet was worn
But, when we crossed the finish line
We done run, run, run, we done run, run.

We felt so good that we gave a cheer
We do run, run, run, we do run, run
Coming back again to Maui next year
To run, run, run, run to run, run, run.

2nd Chorus:
Yeah, we love to run
Yeah, we had good run
And, when we crossed the finish line
We done run, run, run, we done run, run.

Ending: (3 times out out) We done run, run, run, we done run, run.
