We met a friend Aileen Wojack from our Maryland days while performing at the 2015 Maui Marathon. We were surprised that Aileen’s 30-something-year-old daughter recognized “our sound” as were singing and told her mom to come into the room. The daughter was 16-years-old the last time she heard us sing at her sister’s wedding.
At that same event, a couple told us afterwards they watch our YouTube Channel and came specifically to the event to hear us play.
In 2011, we recorded “The Maui Marathon Song” – our version of lyrics to the music originally written by the Crystals in the 1960s – that became our signature song for the event.
The Hawaiian Serenaders performed 22 shows at the finish line and at the expo during our 8 years at the Maui Marathon from 2009-2016.
