Ukulele Strumming 202 for 2020

Kaunoa classesThe ‘Ukulele Strumming 202 class is scheduled to continue into 2020 on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 9 – 11 a.m. at Kaunoa Senior Center in Spreckelsville, Maui. We will continue to play a variety of Hawaiian, hapa haole, and pop songs arranged with my unique ‘ukulele strumming styles. Students can listen to the audio recordings on my website and play along with the songs outside of class.

Here is the schedule for a total of 18 classes through the year:
January 15 (no class on January 1 holiday)
February 19 (no class on February 5 as Mele’s unavailable)
March 4 (no class March 18 during Kaunoa recess)
April 1 and 15
May 6 and 20
June 3 and 17
July 15 (no class July 1 during Kaunoa recess)
August 5 and 19
September 2 and 16
October 21 (no class October 7 during Kaunoa recess)
November 4 and 18
December 2

The 8th Annual Ukulele Mele Christmas Party will be December 9 from 9 a.m. – 12 noon. The program includes a sing-along of Christmas songs.

Aloha, Mele Fong aka Ukulele Mele


Mele Fong is a professional singer, song arranger, and master of multiple strumming styles for the 'ukulele. She is an experienced educator with over 50+ years experience playing the 'ukulele and entertaining worldwide. Mele performs with her husband in the duo "The Hawaiian Serenaders" and leads student groups. In 1996, the duo represented the State of Hawai'i in concert at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Mele and her husband Richard Tom were both born and raised on Oahu and now reside in Maui.
