Serenaders at Maui Marathon

Maui Marathon 2013

Entertaining at Maui Marathon 2013

The Hawaiian Serenaders will be having a musical marathon while runners are racing in the Maui Marathon this coming weekend. We’ve been doing this for quite a few years now, ever since we saw an ad seeking entertainers along the route. However, what started as one show has expanded to four shows in three days.

Here’s our performance schedule for this year:

  1. Friday, September 19 from 2:30 – 3:15 p.m. at the Westin Hotel for the runner’s Exposition in the main ballroom. Free to the public.
  2. Saturday, September 20 from 2:30-3:30 p.m.¬†at the Westin Hotel for the runner’s Exposition in the main ballroom. Free to the public.
  3. Saturday, September 20 from 5-5:45 p.m. outside under a huge tent by Paradise Grill for the Pasta Party. Ticket admission.
  4. Sunday, September 21 from 9-10: 15 a.m. outside the Finish Line near Whalers Village. Free to the public.

We’re hoping to see friends from past years who have run the marathon before. The first year we met Chika from Japan, she came up to dance “Ulupalakua” when she heard us playing the song. Ever since then, we’ve kept in touch via Facebook.

Whether you’re running in the Marathon, or cheering on the runners, stop by and see us on stage if you’re in the neighborhood. All events are free to the public except for Saturday night’s Pasta Party.
