On the Sunday of the Queen’s birthday program in March at Queen Kaahumanu Center, we attend and participate in the program at Alii Sunday at Kaahumanu Church. The Royal Order of Kamehameha leads Alii Sundays to honor Hawaiian royalty at church services throughout the year. The other royal societies are invited to attend as well. After closing protocols, we go to lunch together.
Kaahumanu Church was established in 1832. Queen Kaahumanu requested it be built, but died before its completion.
