This coming Saturday, November 21, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon is the monthly ‘Ukulele Strumming Workshop at the Bailey House Museum in Wailuku. Bring your ‘ukulele and a friend to the workshop and have fun applying different strums to popular sing-along songs to make them sound better. Cost is $10 or $5 for members of the Bailey House Museum at the door.
New! Don’t take my word for it. Read a few testimonials from past participants of workshops to hear about how much fun they had.
If you can you play C, F, and G7 chords confidently while strumming up and down evenly, then this workshop is for you. We will go beyond the chalang-alang (even up and down strums) and give you a taste of other rhythm patterns as we play fun, sing-along songs in a group setting. There is no need to read music as we play songs by ear without looking at music. My husband, Richard Tom, known as the boom master, accompanies us on u-bass and fills in the lower tones to the higher tones of the ‘ukulele, making the songs sound fuller.
After the workshop, you can continue learning from me by scheduling private lessons at the Bailey House Museum or via webcam from home, subscribing to online lessons, or by purchasing packaged sets of book/DVD/CD. Experience first hand how fun it is to “Watch. Listen. Play. The Ukulele Mele Way.”
