Advanced Ukulele Class for 2020

Kaunoa classesThe Advanced ‘Ukulele class is scheduled to continue into 2020 on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month from 9 – 11 a.m. at Kaunoa Senior Center in Spreckelsville, Maui. We will continue to play a variety of Hawaiian, hapa haole, pop, and jazz songs arranged with my unique ‘ukulele strumming styles. Students can listen to the audio recordings on my website and play along with the songs outside of class.

Here is the schedule for a total of 20 classes through the year:
January 8 and 22
February 12 and 26
March 11 and 25
April 8 and 22
May 13 and 27
June 10 (no class on June 24 during Kaunoa recess)
July 8 and 22
August 12 and 26
September 9 and 23
October 14 and 28
November 25 (no class on November 11 holiday)

The 8th Annual Ukulele Mele Christmas Party will be December 9 from 9 a.m. – 12 noon. The program includes a sing-along of Christmas songs.

Aloha, Mele Fong aka Ukulele Mele


Mele Fong is a professional singer, song arranger, and master of multiple strumming styles for the 'ukulele. She is an experienced educator with over 50+ years experience playing the 'ukulele and entertaining worldwide. Mele performs with her husband in the duo "The Hawaiian Serenaders" and leads student groups. In 1996, the duo represented the State of Hawai'i in concert at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Mele and her husband Richard Tom were both born and raised on Oahu and now reside in Maui.
