Advanced Hawaiian Ukulele Workshop in July

Mele Fong of Ukulele Mele on Maui teaches an Advanced Hawaiian Ukulele workshop from July 16-20. Adults can learn to play 7 songs with 3-11 ukulele chords and 8 unique strums.

Are you a confident ukulele player looking to go to the next level? Come to Maui for my Advanced Hawaiian Ukulele week-long workshop July 16 – 20  to learn from a professional ukulele teacher/singer/entertainer. Have FUN learning to play Hawaii’s official instrument from a Native Hawaiian in a historical Hawaiian place. No need to read music as you learn ukulele chords and unique strums to fun, sing-along songs. Enjoy applying what you learn to your favorite songs and join the ukulele craze making music with your friends!

Dates: July 16 – 20, 2018.
Workshop: 10 hours of instruction over 5 days.
Place: Hale Ho’ike’ike at the Bailey House, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii.
Cost: $1,150 Includes rental instrument, songbook, video lessons, audio recordings, and video stories behind the songs for 7 songs with 3-11 ukulele chords and 8 unique strums (includes 2 Hawaiian songs).

Aloha, Mele Fong aka Ukulele Mele


Mele Fong is a professional singer, song arranger, and master of multiple strumming styles for the 'ukulele. She is an experienced educator with over 50+ years experience playing the 'ukulele and entertaining worldwide. Mele performs with her husband in the duo "The Hawaiian Serenaders" and leads student groups. In 1996, the duo represented the State of Hawai'i in concert at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Mele and her husband Richard Tom were both born and raised on Oahu and now reside in Maui.
